- Beef tips over Rice with Roasted Brussel sprouts & spiced pears
- Chicken stir fry over fried rice with Asian blend vegetables & Spring Roll
- BBQ Pulled Pork on bun with Scalloped potatoes & Peas
- Sliced turkey with gravy with Potatoes O’Brien & Roasted Butternut squash
Cold Meals are like a sack lunch:
- Cold entree like a sandwich (lunch meat, tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, wraps, etc)
- One side (pasta salad, potato salad, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc)
- One fruit
- 1 drink (juice or choice of milk)
Meals are delivered Monday - Friday between 11am and 12:45 pm. If you will not be home, let us know. We can leave you meal for you. We prefer to use coolers when recipients are not home, so please let us know if you need one.
The meals are delivered by volunteers who are the heart and soul of the program. Their warm, human touch means so much to our clients. Without their selfless dedication, we could not serve the meals we provide each weekday in Vigo County. We are constantly looking for additional volunteers to deliver meals. We prepare our meal daily, in a commercial kitchen. Our Kitchen Manager / Chef & Assistant Chef plans & prepares meals with assistance from volunteers. Drivers pick up the packaged meals and deliver them to clients’ homes. Note: Each day’s meal are prepared, packaged, and delivered under strict food safety guidelines to minimize the risk of contamination. The meals are cooked fresh daily then delivered to our recipients.
- Cost is $7.00 for the Combination of (1) Hot Meal & (1) Cold Meal on the same day.
- Hot Meal only is $5.00 per day.
- Cold Meal only is $4.00 per day.
- All Meals Include a Drink.
- There is NO Delivery Charge.
The services of Terre Haute Area Meals on Wheels may be available to Any resident of The Terre Haute Area who has the ability to pay at discounted prices. Any one is elgible including homebound as the result of age, disability, or illness. Most recipients live alone and are handicapped, malnourished, elderly, or otherwise unable to prepare food for themselves. People of all incomes and ages may be eligible for meals. Meals on Wheels does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, creed, color, gender, disability, or national origin.
