Emergency Food

Since the onset of COVID-19 in March 2020, we have have been working to add an additional layer of food assistance to our program. Through a partnership with the Terre Haute Catholic Charities Food Bank, we are able to provide Emergency Food to those in Vigo County that have the ability to prepare meals for themselves, but lack the means or transportation to acquire the food. Most of the food items we give are whole foods such as meat, produce, milk, and dairy items, as well shelf-stable items like soups, breakfast items, dried fruit & nuts, bread, etc. From time to time we may have other household items available, but only when we receive a donation of them.

To make a request for Emergency Food, call 812-232-3878, and someone will gather needed information and schedule the food delivery or pick up.

Each week Emergency Food requests can be scheduled for pick up if you have transportation, or we can schedule a delivery if you do not. We have partnered with the Area 7 Transportation division to offer this delivery service at no cost to you. To recieve Emergency Food in the fastest manner possible, we encourage you to arrange transportation and schedule a pick up.

When you call to make your request, we need information about your whole family - the number of adults, children, ages, etc. as well as several other pieces of information.
